“Modern vehicle architectures place even greater demands on the diagnostic expertise of independent workshops. With ZF [pro]Diagnostics, we will offer an innovative, holistic diagnostic solution that reflects ZF’s reinforced commitment to provide workshops with market-leading multi-brand and multi-system vehicle diagnostics solutions, for passenger cars and commercial vehicles”, emphasized Philippe Colpron, Head of ZF Aftermarket. “Our customers need tailored solutions to keep raising their customer service levels in a competitive market. The latest security standards to access vehicle data and the electrification of the vehicle park represent challenges for them, and ZF Aftermarket will offer them a suitable solution that reduces complexity while increasing the service capability of workshops.”

Future-proofed diagnostics for every vehicle and system

ZF MultiScan as part of ZF [pro]Diagnostics ecosystem is the go-to tool for reliable, multi-brand diagnostics across a wide range of vehicles, including passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, trucks, trailers, and buses. Tailored to meet the diverse needs of different kind of workshops, it will include three specialized software packages: MultiScan Car, MultiScan Trailer, and MultiScan Truck & Bus.

With an extensive vehicle database, the solution ensures fast and precise troubleshooting for tens of thousands of models, covering all essential vehicle systems. This means workshops can diagnose issues quickly and accurately, saving valuable time and resources. Equipped with latest technology, ZF [pro]Diagnostics supports all major diagnostic protocols, including Diagnostics over Internet Protocol (DoIP) and CAN FD. Additionally, it supports access to the latest OE data security gateways and includes PassThru (J2534) capabilities, allowing workshops to unlock OE security gateways effortlessly with a single registration.

ZF Scan will replace the previous solutions from ZF (Testman) and former WABCO (Truck/Bus/Trailer/Off-Highway) and enables the service ability of all ZF components such as transmissions, brake and chassis control systems.

Integrating a rich Tier-1 diagnostics heritage and enabling new business models

Building upon a long experience with diagnostics solutions for ZF-manufactured systems, ZF [pro]Diagnostics anticipates the importance of a reliable communication with all relevant vehicle systems and a fast as well as precise interpretation of all data and error codes.

“Workshops look for efficient and evolutive solutions enabling them to service their customer’s vehicles, today and tomorrow. By progressively integrating its ZF-systems diagnostics capabilities into its [pro]Diagnostics platform, ZF reduces the needs for multiple diagnostics solutions (hardware and software), with obvious financial benefits and efficiency gains for the workshops”, said Philippe Colpron.

While most of the market is built around rigid hardware renewal and licensing cycles, ZF [pro]Diagnostics is meant to offer flexible pricing options to make diagnostic solutions more accessible for every workshop, while fitting to the reality of the workshop activities. For instance, ZF [pro]Diagnostics can be made available through straightforward monthly subscriptions and an innovative pay-per-vehicle option, allowing workshops to align their costs with their actual repair activity.
