ZF Group and Hon Hai Technology Group announced in July this year the establishment of a joint venture focusing on the passenger car chassis business. Dr. Holger Klein, CEO of the ZF Group, and Mr. Jun Seki, Chief Strategy Officer for Electric Vehicles, Hon Hai Technology Group, talked about the importance of the joint venture for the development of both sides, while sharing their views on the development trend of the automotive industry and the future prospects of electric vehicles. The Hon Hai Technology Day was held at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Centre and attracted more than 1,000 guests from around the world.

“In the Asia-Pacific and global markets, e-mobility business is growing rapidly, and the outlook is optimistic. ZF is at the forefront of innovation in e-mobility with leading solutions and partnerships,” said Dr. Holger Klein, CEO of ZF Group. “Going forward, the two companies will fully utilize each other's capabilities to expand their product offerings in both internal combustion engine and electric vehicle segments. ZF Group has had a presence in Taiwan since 1988, and our business partnership with Hon Hai will further strengthen our presence in the Asia-Pacific region and globally, enhancing the impact of both companies as we move toward the next generation mobility."

“ZF is moving rapidly towards ‘Next Generation Mobility’. E-mobility and advanced chassis solutions are our core technologies. In chassis technology, ZF offers an industry-unique portfolio of vertical, longitudinal, and lateral dynamics solutions, including hardware and software. In the field of electric drives, our concept car EVbeat fully demonstrates our outstanding capabilities. It is super compact, lightweight with maximum efficiency, including a 74-kilogram lightweight ultra-compact driveline (with a torque density of 70 Nm/kg), integral thermal management and networked driveline software,” said Stephan von Schuckmann, Member of the Board of Management of the ZF Group.“ Recently, we also unveiled the I2SM (In-Rotor Inductive-Excited Synchronous Motor), which sets a new benchmark in the production of electric motors by achieving maximum power and torque density while ensuring unique compactness.” Earlier this year, ZF partnered with Wolfspeed, the world leader in silicon carbide technology, to develop groundbreaking innovations for silicon carbide systems, products and applications across the entire value chain, from chips to complete systems.
