- TraXon DynamicPerform enables mobile cranes and special vehicles up to 3,000 Nm to start and maneuver nearly wear-free, without overheating
LAS VEGAS, Nevada, USA. During the upcoming CONEXPO 2023, ZF will showcase leading products for the construction industry, including the CeTrax electric central drive family, the EcoLife Offroad 2 transmission and the TraXon DynamicPerform transmission. These products, as well as several other ZF technologies designed specifically for construction applications, are proven to enhance equipment performance, while reducing operational costs.
All-electric for special vehicles with CeTrax family
The products and systems of the CeTrax electric central drive family are innovative and powerful drive solutions for special vehicles. The latest addition, CeTrax 2, has an integrated three-speed transmission and slim-housing that improve climbing and off-road abilities. In addition, it delivers a powerful acceleration and a seamless torque delivery. The light weight and the high electrical efficiency helps extend vehicel operational range. As a zero-emissions product, CeTrax 2 also helps operators meet their sustainability goals.
Robust lightweight EcoLife Offroad 2
EcoLife Offroad 2 is a transmission system in the segment of medium to heavy vehicles such as construction sites and dump trucks. The permissible engine-end torque of 3,000 Nm and the torque of the two engine-dependent PTOs with 1,000 Nm enable high and robust power transmission in the toughest off-road conditions. On top, an optional interface for a directly mounted transfer case saves valuable installation space and gives OEMs free rein to install and develop new platforms.
Wear-free and almost permanent maneuvering with TraXon DynamicPerform
ZF’s TraXon DynamicPerform is an innovative launch element featuring a multidisk clutch cooled by an oil circuit. Thanks to this, mobile cranes and special vehicles up to 3,000 Nm can now start and maneuver almost wear-free, without overheating. TraXon DynamicPerform is ideally suited for construction site trucks, dump trucks and more – because low-wear maneuvering makes a real difference in terms of comfort and operating costs in this segment as well.
Fits perfectly: All products as part of ZF's Modular Drive System
Thanks to ZF's development expertise, all products seamlessly fit into the modular drive concept, which was presented by the company last year. The available components of the complete solution optionally include the electric central drive CeTrax 2, the automatic 7-speed transmission EcoLife Offroad 2 or the TraXon transmission platform as well as the TC 27 transfer case.
The system enables vehicles to drive various routes purely electrically, or to use hybrid mode for medium-length routes. Furthermore, the electric motor can now support the combustion engine with an additional power boost.
The core idea behind this approach is to accelerate the development and registration of new models without manufacturers having to sacrifice proven ZF quality. The Modular Drive System provides vehicle manufacturers with a flexible and comparatively simple technology solution that can be adapted to the respective use case.
CONEXPO, which is the largest construction show in North America, is scheduled for March 14-18, 2023, in Las Vegas. Exhibitors can visit ZF’s booth in South Hall 4 — S84214 to learn more about the company’s industry-leading products.
“ZF is pleased to continually present new and innovative products to the construction industry, including the exhibition of our latest special driveline products,” said Chuck Balboa, Product Line Manager – Special Vehicle Systems North America.” Whether a customer wants to operate construction equipment that is robust, reliable and optimized for challenging conditions, or to take another step towards meeting their sustainability goals, ZF has the solutions. We look forward to connecting with current and future partners and showcasing our full portfolio of products tailored to the construction industry at this year’s CONEXPO.”
