Today, enterprises – also ZF – are influenced by global mega-trends. As a global and responsibly operating enterprise ZF is already implementing that which will be important in the future – for society, for mobility of people, for the environment and for industry.
ZF is presenting the Industrial Engineering Division at the Hanover Fair 2015. The company is focusing on electronics and industrial solutions, e-mobility, system expertise, innovative products and development capability.
At this key international fair ZF is showing its product highlights for the industrial sector. This covers the development and production of transmissions and axles for agricultural and construction machinery as well as driveline technology for material handling systems, rail and special vehicles. The division is also responsible for the worldwide business of marine propulsion systems, aviation technology as well as the development and production of gearboxes for wind turbines. ZF represents intelligent networking, system competence, efficient products and offers total solutions.
From the wind power field ZF is showing a planetary gear set for gearboxes in the power range from 1.5 to 6.15 megawatts. The primary factors are low operating costs in conjunction with the highest availability.
The ZF Innovation Truck makes light work of manoeuvring long trucks. In order that trucks will also be able to cope with increased requirements in future haulage transport, new intelligent systems are demanded, such as the telematics platform from Openmatics. The ZF Innovation Truck gives an impression of what they might be like. In particular, ZF gives an outlook of how the technology developed in the automotive sector can be used in the field of industrial technology.
From the Special Driveline Technology Division ZF is displaying a transmission for high-speed trains. A train can travel up to 380 kilometres per hour with the powerful single-stage transmission which has completed comprehensive testing. With the high-speed, hollow-shaft transmission, Duoplan 2K 150 HS, ZF demonstrates how high performance and a wide range of applications together with maximum quiet running and a low temperature level can be simultaneously achieved. ZF Servoplan planetary gears have been developed for direct mounting on servo-motors. Using various installation sizes and a basic building block system, they can be employed in almost all fields of automation engineering.
In the agricultural machine sector ZF offers the system, ZF TERRA+, consisting of a powerful electrical machine which is integrated into the transmission case. Through the on-demand operation of electrical secondary equipment, consumption advantages of about five percent can be achieved with the tractor.
The drive axle, GPA 35, for electric counter-balance lift trucks with two high-performance traction motors and an integral brake system sets the benchmark in the class up to 3.5 t lifting capacity.

A hundred years of ZF
2015 marks on important anniversary year for ZF: One hundred years ago the "Zahnradfabrik GmbH" – the embryo of the present-day group – was founded as a company for the "manufacture of gearwheels and transmissions for aircraft, motor vehicles and motor boats". Thanks to a varied history, ZF has made use of enterprising opportunities and has developed into an internationally leading technological group in driveline and chassis engineering. The company is represented in this area with a total of 21 locations and produces equipment for the automotive industry and other sectors.
