Friedrichshafen. ZF Friedrichshafen AG and doubleSlash Net-Business GmbH have agreed on strategic participation. ZF is to buy a 40 percent stake in doubleSlash. ZF wishes to further expand particularly the field of vehicle networking with the software company also based in Friedrichshafen.
ZF and doubleSlash Net-Business GmbH with its approximately 100 employees formed a strategic partnership back in the fall of last year to collaborate closely in four strategic business sectors: software development, networked products and services, product data management and Enterprise Information Management (EIM), which digitally supports organizational processes in companies.
"With doubleSlash, we have gained an extremely well experienced partner in the field of vehicle networking," says ZF Chief Executive Officer Dr. Stefan Sommer. "This collaboration ensures exciting new solutions for us to equip the cars of the future with intelligent software architecture according to our SEE THINK ACT guiding principle. To achieve this, we are gradually filling in the remaining gaps in our technology portfolio," explains Sommer regarding the participation.
doubleSlash has successfully supported ZF in several software projects, such as up-to-date web technologies which facilitate the user's communication with the Advanced Urban Vehicle (AUV) and the visualization of this interaction. Data and signals can be transmitted in real time thanks to these technologies. "Working together on this was a promising start," remarks doubleSlash General Manager Andreas Strobel. "We are delighted to have gained ZF as a partner, with whom we can constantly pursue and further expand our existing strategy of digitizing companies and networking products." According to Strobel, the participation has formed the basis for even more intensive, closer and trustworthy software partner collaboration. doubleSlash will also continue to operate on the market as an autonomous and independent software company.
