- Built for independent shops: ZF MultiScan delivers diagnostics, including advanced functions, coding and programming on multiple vehicle makes and models.
- Live demonstrations of ZF MultiScan including OE diagnostic insights, expert training mini-sessions, and product exhibits will highlight ZF’s full aftermarket ecosystem in AAPEX Forum, Booth #F13011.
Las Vegas, NV - November 2, 2026. ZF MultiScan was launched at AAPEX 2025 to give independent shops access to a broad range of advanced functions, coding and programming. New at AAPEX in 2026, ZF takes MultiScan to the next level, launching and demonstrating how it can bring its deep actionable insights on the systems it manufactures for OEMs into its aftermarket tool for independent shops. ZF aftermarket will showcase how these deep actionable insights can be quickly accessed in the form of mini diagnostic test plans right when the technician reads the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) on the ZF MultiScan.
“As one of the leading global OE and aftermarket manufacturers for driveline and chassis technologies for passenger cars with conventional powertrains as well as for hybrid and electric vehicles, ZF is in a unique position to provide diagnostic insights on those technologies to the independent aftermarket,” said Anuj Gupta, Head of Digital Diagnostics, NA. We’re proud to launch and showcase such insights on the ZF Continuous Damping Control (CDC) chassis technology equipped on a variety of vehicle models in North America. Capabilities like these ultimately benefit consumers by enhancing the serviceability of their vehicles in the independent aftermarket,” he added.
ZF Diagnostic insights for vehicles equipped with ZF Continuous Damping Control (CDC)
Multiple vehicle brands and models in North America are equipped with ZF Continuous Damping Control (CDC) systems. For these vehicles, ZF diagnostic insights are built right in the technician’s MultiScan diagnostic workflow.
Through auto detection of ZF Electronic Control Units (ECUs) during a vehicle scan, when a Diagnostic Trouble Code is read on ZF control unit, ZF diagnostic insights are immediately accessible from the page. Clicking on ZF diagnostic insights provides the technician a very quick overview of the system operation if it is their first time working on such a system. Following that, the ZF diagnostic insights provide:
- Key conditions, values, and behaviors for diagnosing the fault: This ZF engineering information is trimmed down to the data points and thresholds needed to diagnose.
- Recommended checks: This information is trimmed down to the probable checks based on analysis of the specific fault conditions.
- Associated data: Rather than telling the technician which Parameter Identifiers (PIDs) to find manually, the relevant live data from the vehicle is displayed.
ZF diagnostic insights become a powerful actionable mini diagnostic test plan rather than a long technical information page. “Independent shops are being asked to service increasingly sophisticated vehicles, and they need access to the right information to do that work efficiently and confidently,” said Chris Battershell, Vice President, ZF Aftermarket North America. “By bringing ZF’s OE knowledge directly into the technician’s diagnostic workflow, we’re helping our customers turn complex vehicle information into actionable insights. It’s another way ZF is helping independent workshops prepare for the next generation of vehicle service.”
ZF MultiScan is designed to allow the modern advanced workshop to step into the future of diagnostics. Connect with experts and visit ZF at AAPEX Forum, Booth #F13011 for hands-on demonstrations and go to aftermarket.zf.com/us/multiscan for additional information.
