- Digital update: New cloud architecture for ZF Rescue Connect
- ZF presents its complete portfolio in Hall 27, Booth D55
Friedrichshafen/Hanover, June 1, 2026. When an emergency call comes in, everything must work safely, quickly and reliably. From the vehicle to the control center, emergency responders depend on a technology partner they can trust. ZF fulfills this role with a comprehensive portfolio ranging from advanced drive technologies to fully digital fleet management solutions. ZF will showcase these innovations at this year’s Interschutz (June 1–6, Hannover) in Hall 27, Booth D55.
In critical situations, “good enough” is not good enough. Responders heading to a mission must be able to rely fully on their equipment, while incident commanders require accurate, real-time information to make the right decisions. Whether it is reliable drive solutions for special-purpose vehicles or innovative digital tools that connect entire fleets, ZF acts as a strong partner for emergency services.
At this year’s Interschutz in Hanover, ZF is therefore presenting its comprehensive technology portfolio, featuring the following highlights, among others:
Stop and go and more: Vehicle technology for the toughest operations
Seconds matter when responding to emergencies. Moving heavy-duty vehicles quickly, precisely and safely requires specialized technology – especially under high loads or challenging environmental conditions.
ZF will present the electric central drive CeTrax 2 dual for the first time in a configuration tailored to heavy special-purpose and emergency vehicles. Already proven in logistics and public transport applications, this solution combines high performance – with continuous output of 380 kW – with locally emission-free operation. Thanks to its compact design and low weight, it can also be integrated into existing internal combustion engine platforms, supporting more sustainable rescue concepts.
The drive portfolio at Interschutz is complemented by the EcoLife Offroad 2 automatic transmission. The seven-speed automatic transmission for combustion-engine vehicles delivers robust, responsive power delivery under the harshest conditions – even with frequent load changes and at low speeds. With numerous optimizations, the second-generation transmission delivers improved performance at lower costs both on and off the road.
For all-wheel-drive vehicles, ZF is presenting the TC 27 transfer case, which is designed for particularly demanding all-wheel-drive applications. Its lightweight and compact design simplifies installation while also enabling a higher payload and reduced fuel consumption.
But speed alone is not enough: Only those who can reach the scene safely can save lives – in dense city traffic as well as on rough terrain. The scalable mBSP compressed-air braking system platform offers high deceleration performance and intelligent brake force distribution for ABS and ESC. It integrates seamlessly into modern driver assistance and automation systems and also supports the recuperation of braking energy in hybrid and fully electric vehicles.
ZF’s holistic approach to electrification is further demonstrated by the e-comp Scroll, an oil-free air compressor for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles with hybrid, battery-electric or fuel cell drives. It enables low-noise, maintenance-free operation.
ADM 3: Automatic Drivetrain Management for greater safety and efficiency
With ADM 3 (Automatic Drivetrain Management, third generation), ZF fully automates the control of differential locks in all-wheel-drive vehicles. The system is designed to be “cybersecurity ready” and meets current requirements for IT security and long-term availability. Enhanced IP protection ratings allow for external mounting outside the cab and provide increased protection against dust and water – a decisive advantage for harsh operating conditions.
Thanks to a more powerful processor, expanded memory, and support for CAN-FD communication, ADM 3 enables significantly faster data processing as well as future functional enhancements. The integrated control logic manages the differential locks fully automatically based on driving conditions and slip, activating them only when they are actually needed. The result is optimal traction combined with increased driving stability and reduced wear.
ZF Rescue Connect: Digital platform for emergency responders and vehicles
ZF Rescue Connect is a modular, cloud-based platform for digital emergency response and fleet management designed for organizations with security responsibilities. The system connects vehicles, equipment, emergency responders, and control centers in real time and provides relevant information through a centralized interface. Features include vehicle and status management, mission documentation, resource overviews, and interfaces to existing control center and IT systems.
The platform can be used independently of any specific manufacturer and is designed not only for fire departments, but also for rescue services, disaster response organizations, and other emergency response stakeholders.
Starting in June, ZF will launch a completely revamped product portfolio, becoming Europe’s largest provider of digital solutions for emergency services.
Everything from a single source: from tactical command and control software through communication, routing, e-mobility, and fleet management, all the way to medical device management. This far-reaching and comprehensive development – carried out under the slogan “New Digital Operations World” – opens up entirely new possibilities for all emergency responders, meets the highest standards across all areas, and also enables the integration of external services. With currently more than 25 existing and planned apps, the platform represents a scalable and flexible digital ecosystem for the entire emergency response sector.
ZF's entire portfolio for the emergency services sector is on display in Hall 27, Booth D55.
