Friedrichshafen, Germany. ZF will demonstrate how its newest technologies support OEMs and fleets on the path toward smarter, safer and zero‑emission mobility at the combined Transpotec Logitec and Next Mobility Exhibition shows in Milan (May 13–16, 2026). The combined cargo and people mobility trade show provides an ideal platform for ZF to demonstrate the strength and depth of its commercial vehicle portfolio, with solutions that advance decarbonization, improve vehicle safety and efficiency, while reducing total cost of ownership.
TraXon 2 Hybrid: Decarbonization solution for trucks
A central highlight is the TraXon 2 Hybrid, developed to reduce emissions and improve operating efficiency while lowering total cost of ownership. The hybrid module positions an electric motor between the engine and transmission, enabling hybrid functionality for heavy‑duty trucks. Its modular design integrates hybrid capability with minimal changes to existing vehicle platforms and delivers real‑world fuel savings.
Calculations using the VECTO simulation tool show a CO₂ reduction potential of up to 47% in long‑haul transport and up to 73% in distribution transport with consistent recharging. This directly supports targets set for 2030, while creating flexibility in response to future European toll and tax regulations.
CeTrax 2 dual: High performance electrification for heavy duty applications
ZF’s most powerful central electric drive for heavy‑duty trucks and coaches, the CeTrax 2 dual integrates electric motors, inverters, control electronics and a multi‑speed transmission into a compact configuration. The system supports the industry’s transition to zero‑emission long‑distance operation by delivering strong continuous power and high efficiency.
New driven axle: Supporting hybrid and electric architectures
Also being presented is ZF’s A134 axle, developed to meet the higher torque demands of hybrid and electric drivetrains. The new driven rear axle increases efficiency while maintaining existing installation points, enabling integration across multiple driveline architectures for coach platforms.
Trailer technologies — iEBS, PRV and OptiTire
ZF’s latest trailer technologies, designed to operate as one integrated system that optimizes safety, uptime and operating efficiency, are also on show. At its core is iEBS, an intelligent electronic trailer braking system that enhances braking, stability and safety functions. Integrated with the Park Release Valve (PRV) for simplified and safer parking control, OptiTire for continuous tire pressure monitoring and TailGUARD, ZF’s reversing collision avoidance system, iEBS connects critical trailer functions within a single control architecture. These technologies deliver controlled braking, improved stability, safer maneuvering and active monitoring, helping fleets reduce accident risk, increase vehicle availability and lower total operating costs.
Digital solutions — ZF Scan and ZF [pro]Diagnostics
ZF is also presenting its digital service and fleet ecosystem technologies that support higher efficiency, uptime and data‑driven operations at the show. ZF Scan enables proactive vehicle health management by consolidating integrated diagnostic data, while ZF [pro]Diagnostics delivers cloud‑secured fault identification, secure ECU access and service software updates in compliance with cybersecurity requirements. At fleet level, SCALAR, ZF’s open and hyper-scalable fleet management platform, connects trucks, trailers, drivers, systems and processes into a single ecosystem — one source of truth to optimize planning, maximize asset health, simplify compliance and reduce operating costs for mixed‑fleet operations of all sizes.
ZF SUMS (Software Update Management System) Service Suite will also be an important topic and part of the Conference program. The suite provides a comprehensive toolkit to enable smart and safe software updates for trailers in line with UNECE R156.
The ZF booth at the Transpotec Logitec / New Mobility Exhibition can be found in Hall 14, #C35 D44.
