The only constant in our world is change. To overcome challenges that are associated with these changes ZF introduces new EASE inspired braking and control technologies for Off Highway applications.
Product Bonanza Highlights Five New Developments Supporting Electrification and Advanced Vehicle Control
Las Vegas, Nevada — ZF today announced a major expansion of its braking and control portfolio, introducing five new product adaptations and developments designed to support the evolving needs of off highway, construction, mining, and agricultural vehicle manufacturers. The new offerings reflect a unified design philosophy centered on EASE — engineering solutions that simplify system design, improve functionality, and enhance customer operational efficiency through improved system usability.
As a global leader in hydraulic and electro-hydraulic braking technology, ZF continues to support customers with solutions that improve safety, performance, and system integration while enabling the transition toward electrified and autonomous machines.
“These new developments represent a product bonanza across multiple braking functions,” said Tom Chambers, Head of Off-Highway Braking, ZF Industrial Division “Each product is designed around EASE, Excellent, Adaptable, Safe and Efficient. Our engineering teams develop solutions that provide an ease of operation for drivers, ease of integration for engineers and ease of installation for manufacturing and service.”
EASE Focused Innovations Across the Braking System
The newly announced technologies span mechanical, hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, and electronic interfaces, providing scalable solutions that can be deployed independently or as part of an integrated braking system:
- New Pedal Modulating Valve Family
ZF’s new Pedal Modulating Valve family is designed to directly operate large multiple disc brakes, designed for silence, allowing precise brake control and consistent brake feel across a wide range of operating conditions. The family approach enables easy adaptation to different platforms while simplifying system design and validation. Patent pending for the dual hydraulic balancing
- Pressure Limiting Electro-Hydraulic Brake Valve
The new patented Pressure Limiting Electro-hydraulic Brake Valve enhances system safety by delivering controlled pressure management under demanding braking scenarios. The design supports smooth intervention, optimized efficiency, and integration into modern electro-hydraulic braking architectures.
- Hydraulic In-line Brake Adjuster with Patented Features
A newly developed hydraulic in-line brake adjuster introduces patent ready design features that improve long term performance stability and simplify installation. The solution addresses packaging constraints while delivering consistent brake adjustment throughout system life.
- Electronic Brake Pedal with Analog or PWM Output
Expanding its electronic interface portfolio, ZF introduces a new functional safety compliant modular Electronic Brake Pedal featuring analog or PWM output options. This flexibility allows vehicle manufacturers to tailor pedal response and signal strategy to their specific control systems and brand requirements, while supporting future electrified and autonomous applications.
Designed for Integration, Scalability, and the Future
Together, these developments underscore ZF’s commitment to ease of installation, adaptable system design, and customer focused functionality. The technologies support a wide range of vehicle architectures, from conventional hydraulic systems to advanced electro-hydraulic and electronically controlled platforms.
“As off highway vehicles continue to evolve toward higher levels of electrification and automation, our EASE driven approach ensures customers can adopt new technologies without unnecessary complexity,” said Piergiorgio Di Francesco, head of ZF’s Off-Highway sales for North America “These solutions provide short lead times today while supporting future vehicle strategies.”
Availability
The products announced today are in various stages of release and customer validation, with additional details on specifications, availability, and application support to be communicated throughout the year.
